Search I.T. has an opportunity for a Web Application Developer / DBA in the Conshohocken, PA (Zip code 19428) area. This opportunity is a DIRECT HIRE.
This position will report to the local office daily no remote worker responses please. NO THIRD PARTY RESUMES.
The successful entry level candidate should have hands-on experience developing applications with technologies including VBA in Excel, VBA.Net in Excel, JavaScript, XML, PHP, and database technologies. Experience working in a team environment desired. This is an opportunity to work with a progressive team in a small company environment on the latest LAMP technologies, and .Net 3.0/3.5.
The ideal candidate will also have experience in an Oracle environment, as well as one or more open source databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL). Duties will include traditional DBA responsibilities (installation, maintenance, security, disaster recovery, etc.), as well as data architect responsibilities (data modeling, view construction, query tuning, etc.), and database developer responsibilities (query authoring, stored procedure development, etc.). This position would require the ability to interface with application tier and front-end developers, and would include administration and development of both transactional systems and data-warehouse systems.
Systems are deployed on both Windows and Linux platforms, so comfort with shell management and basic shell scripting is also a requirement. Any amount of Linux system administration skills would be considered a plus.
All candidates must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the ability to seamlessly shift to and from different database-related roles and among several database platforms on an as-needed basis.
